When somebody knows Finnish cultural customs, the perception of Finnish people is much easier for her/him. Such a person better realize Finnish expectations from her. Cultural customs in Finland are still uniformed and homogeneous to a great extent because of it Finnish people sometimes feel strange about new or modern matters and avoid doing new methods. In other hand, in Finlands society all people are equal and the behavior must be fair and equal with everyone. The equality of men and women in Finland is very important.

Finnish people may seem at the first glance incommunicative and with an unfriendly behavior. They explain issues directly and honestly. Their conversation is slang and addressing the people as single “You” is very normal. A Finnish always does his own works and do not min other peoples business, s/he respect others private issues and does not intervene in it. Its a famous quote that starting friendship with a Finish may be hard but to be friend with him/her is a life time friendship. In todays Finland, the basis of society is Person not the family. In Finnish culture like other western countries, person has a special position and value. The diligent and single-minded person would be valued.

The Finnish person likes to use his/her time in a reasonable way. She/he has preprogrammed everything and observed all arranged programs and times. The Finish person acts to his/her promise and expect this from others too.

The Finnish person likes to solve the differences rather with conversation. She/he do not want to put anybody in a severe condition, prefers to not announce his/her feelings in an obvious way. Among important issues for Finnish people nature, silence and sauna can be named. Finnish people go to sauna both with their family and friend and also with their business co-workers. Sometimes important political conversations and gadgets are performed in sauna, too.

Please bear in mind that everybody has a cultural presupposition which affects his/her contact to different issues. In order to perceive a person and its culture, try to look at the world through his/her glasses. If you do not understand an issue, ask about it fearlessly. When people talk honestly and explicitly, there are less miss understanding.
