Austria (or in its old version, Österreich) is oe of west European countries. Its capital is Vienna. It is bordered by the Czech Republic and Germany to the north, Hungary and Slovakia to the east, Slovenia and Italy to the south, and Switzerland and Liechtenstein to the west. Austria is the French pronouncian of its German name. Its German name, Österreich, is driven from two words of Öster (east) and reich (territory and or empire) that totally means easern territory or empire. In islamic lands, such as Iran, this country was used to be named as Namsa (and sometimes in Iran as Name).

Austria is a repulbic federal country since World War II in 1940. Federal chancellor will be appointed by the president who is directly elected by popular vote.

According to the last statistic of word bank, Austria is at the eight ranks of the most reach countries of the world, after Swiss, Denmark, Sweden, America, Germany, and Japan.

Its official language is German. 98% of people in this country speak this language. More than German language, some minorities speak Croatian, Slovenian, and Hungarian. This countrys code is 0043, and its official currency is Euro.
